Seascapes
This image has been captured with a Nikon 24-120mm zoom lens at 84mm, using a D700 camera. It can be confusing selecting a lens but have a look at these Nikon Lens Reviews for more information.
Generally for landscapes or seascapes, I would go for a wide angle lens or a medium telephoto. Sometimes a telephoto is good to select a small portion of a mountainous scene.
I Love a Beautiful Place, But I Hate Ugly Software
Yes this is a beautiful place. It is in the Hinterland of the Gold Coast, Australia. It was captured with a Nikon D700 and the Nikon Nikkor 24-120mm f/4.0G ED VR Lens.
The UGLY software, well it is Google Chrome, it does not work with WordPress any more for me. I can not insert Tags so it is back to Explorer and Mozilla. I hate faulty software, so now that is off my chest.
Scrubby Creek
This image was shot at Karawatha Forrest, Illaweena Lagoons on Scrubby Creek, Queensland.
For the image I used an ultra wide angle lens to get a wide vista and a D2H camera was used at a focal length of 10mm. The D2h camera is relatively old now and there are far better cameras such as the Nikon D700 or Nikon D300s.
There are several lenses which can be used for this type of image.
If you are using a Nikon DX camera then one of the following is excellent.

The above 14-24mm lens is a superb sharp lens and would be my choice for the best image quality.
I love wide panoramas to get the best viewpoint for landscapes and seascapes.
Bribie Island Landscape
There are beautiful landscapes to be captured at Bribie Island, ranging from dense bush to beautiful seascapes.
One of the most wonderful lenses for capturing wide landscapes on a Nikon FX camera is the Nikon, Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Lens.
However if you are using a Nikon DX camera then one of the following lenses will give excellent results, the Sigma (Nikon Mount) 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM Lens or the Nikon, Nikkor 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED AF-S DX Lens or the Nikon, Nikkor 12-24mm f/4G IF-ED AF-S DX Lens.
All of the above lenses will give superb optical performance, however the full frame FX cameras are better suited for wide angle photography.
Hervey Bay Seascape

This seascape image has been captured with the Nikon, Nikkor 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED AF-S VR Zoom Lens. I find this lens great as a travel companion covering the range 24 to 120mm.
A Nikon D700 camera was used.
Glasshouse Mountains
The above image of the glasshouse mountains has been captured with a Nikon D2H camera and Nikon 24-1200mm zoom lens. This lens is an excellent general purpose travelling lens.
Fingal Headland Seascape
The beautiful basalt rocks at Fingal Headland are a wonderful photographic subject with the waves crashing over them.
This image has been captured with a Nikon D700 and 200mm Micro lens. This lens is a very good general purpose lens as well as a magnificent close up lens.
